Patient Safety & Practice Policies

Because your safety is our priority.

At Atrium Medspa, we believe trust is built through transparency, clinical judgment, and patient-centered care. Our approach emphasizes informed consent, appropriate medical oversight, realistic communication, and careful attention to safety before, during, and after treatment. This page explains the standards and policies that help guide our practice.

Informed Consent

We believe informed consent is a process, not just a signature. Before treatment, we discuss the nature and purpose of the recommended service, expected benefits, limitations, common side effects, important risks, available alternatives, and what to expect during recovery. We encourage every patient to ask questions and take the time needed to make an informed decision.

Consent is obtained before treatment and may be updated if the treatment plan changes. Choosing not to proceed with treatment is always an option. Our goal is for every patient to feel informed, respected, and comfortable with their decision.

Physician Oversight and Clinical Standards

Atrium Medspa is a physician-led practice. Medical services are performed or supervised in accordance with applicable clinical standards, provider credentials, and scope-of-practice requirements. Michael Klein, MD, FACS, serves as Medical Director and helps guide clinical protocols, treatment appropriateness, patient safety standards, and escalation pathways when higher-level evaluation is needed.

Not every treatment is appropriate for every patient. We review relevant medical history, medications, allergies, contraindications, and treatment goals as part of the evaluation process. When a treatment is not in a patient’s best interest, we may recommend postponing care, declining treatment, or referring the patient for additional medical evaluation.

Complication Recognition and Response

Even when performed carefully and appropriately, aesthetic and medical treatments can involve risk. Patients are given post-treatment instructions and guidance on what to expect during normal recovery, along with information about symptoms that should prompt timely follow-up.

If a patient experiences a concerning issue after treatment, our team will assess the concern and recommend the next appropriate step based on clinical judgment. Depending on the situation, this may include reassurance, prompt follow-up, physician review, in-office evaluation, referral to an outside specialist, or emergency care. Atrium Medspa does not provide emergency services. If you are experiencing severe pain, chest pain, trouble breathing, stroke-like symptoms, severe allergic symptoms, or any other medical emergency, call 911 or seek immediate emergency care.

Product Sourcing and Authenticity

We take product integrity seriously. Prescription products, injectables, and medical-grade treatment supplies are sourced through authorized and reputable professional channels consistent with applicable standards and manufacturer guidance.

We do not base treatment recommendations on trends, hype, or marketing claims alone. Our treatment recommendations are guided by clinical appropriateness, patient goals, safety considerations, and provider judgment. Patients are encouraged to ask questions about the products used in their treatment, including their purpose, expected effects, and limitations.

Before-and-After Photos and Marketing Disclosures

Before-and-after photographs can help illustrate possible treatment outcomes, but they are examples only and should not be interpreted as guarantees. Individual results vary based on anatomy, baseline condition, medical history, treatment plan, healing response, lifestyle factors, and adherence to aftercare instructions.

We do not represent before-and-after images as promises of a specific outcome. When patient images are used for educational or marketing purposes, appropriate written authorization is obtained. Any photography used to illustrate results should be understood in proper context, including the treatment performed, the time between sessions or images, and the fact that outcomes differ from patient to patient.

Privacy and Communication

We work to protect patient and visitor information in accordance with our privacy practices and applicable legal requirements. Website forms, email, text messaging, and other routine communication channels are intended for general communication and scheduling purposes and should not be used to report urgent or emergent medical concerns.

Response times may vary, and some questions or concerns require direct clinical evaluation rather than message-based guidance. Patients with urgent concerns should follow the instructions provided during treatment and contact the appropriate medical resource based on the severity of the issue.

Scope of Care

Atrium Medspa does not replace primary care, emergency care, or specialty care. Some symptoms, conditions, and complications require evaluation outside the medspa setting. Our services are intended for appropriate aesthetic, wellness, and limited medical concerns within the scope of the practice.

We reserve the right to decline treatment, postpone treatment, or refer patients for further evaluation whenever doing so is medically appropriate or in the patient’s best interest.
