Pre-Appointment Instructions for Atrium Medspa Clients
Thank you for scheduling your visit. To ensure optimal results and safety, please review the instructions specific to your treatment below and complete all required forms prior to arrival.
General Requirements (All Appointments)
- Complete all intake and consent forms online before your visit.
- Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin unless otherwise instructed.
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior to your appointment.
- Notify us of any changes in your medical history, medications, or pregnancy/breastfeeding status.
- Review our cancellation policy.
What to do before Botox, Jeuveau & Tox Treatments
To minimize bruising and optimize results:
- Avoid blood-thinning agents for 5–7 days if medically safe (aspirin, NSAIDs, fish oil, vitamin E, ginkgo, alcohol).
- Do not schedule if you have an active infection, cold sore, or skin irritation near the treatment area.
- Arrive with a clean face; no makeup or skincare products.
What to do before Filler Treatments
To minimize bruising and filler complications:
- Avoid blood-thinning agents for 5–7 days if medically safe (aspirin, NSAIDs, fish oil, vitamin E, ginkgo, alcohol).
- Avoid dental work for 2 weeks before and after filler treatments.
- Do not schedule if you have an active infection, cold sore, or skin irritation near the treatment area.
- If you have a history of cold sores, it may be a good idea to take antiviral medication in the days leading up to, and for a week after your procedure. Let us know if you have a history of cold sores.
- Arrive with a clean face; no makeup or skincare products.
What to do before Microneedling
To reduce irritation and improve healing:
- Discontinue retinoids, exfoliants, and active skincare (AHA/BHA, benzoyl peroxide) for 3–5 days prior.
- Avoid sun exposure or tanning for at least 1 week prior.
- Do not undergo treatment if you have active acne, infection, or open wounds in the area.
- Hydrate well in the 24 hours before your appointment.
What to do before Laser Hair Removal & Other Laser Therapies
For safety and effectiveness:
- Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanners for at least 2 weeks prior.
- Shave the treatment area 24 hours before your appointment (do not wax or pluck for 2–4 weeks prior).
- Discontinue retinoids and photosensitizing medications 3–5 days prior, if medically appropriate.
- Ensure skin is clean and free of lotions, deodorants, or sunscreen.
IV Hydration
To ensure a smooth treatment:
- Eat a light meal prior to your appointment.
- Wear comfortable clothing with easy access to your arms.
- Inform us of any history of kidney disease, heart conditions, or fluid restrictions.
- Bring a list of current medications and supplements.
GLP-1 Weight Loss Program
For your initial or follow-up visit:
- Complete all medical history and screening forms in advance.
- Be prepared to discuss your weight history, diet, medications, and prior weight loss attempts.
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior to your visit.
- If this is a follow-up, track your weight, symptoms, and any side effects since your last visit.
- For a Televisit, please ensure that you are physically located in New Jersey, in an area with good reception, with working audio and video.
